Out-of-state tuition. Is it worth it?

I'm currently between my freshman and sophomore years of college and I'm transferring to a university after the next school year with an Associate's Degree. I could transfer to an in-state university that would satisfy want I want to study, but the thing is that I really can't wait to leave and see different parts of the country/world. I've been confined to the same area my whole life. I would actually like to go to school somewhere further away but I'm aware that the cost of my tuition would go up. Would two years of paying more for college be worth it if I really want to experience a different area? Also, are there ways I could reduce the amount of money that I would owe?
