Was Weiner (deliberately) being used as a distraction?

this is not a joke lol, I just mean is it possible that the whole lewd photo thing was actually orchestrated deliberatetly as a distraction for conservatives or to divert attention from serious issues for which republicans are unable to provide practical solutions or ones that are better than those on the left. It does seem ironic to me that his last name is Weiner, so it seems possible that it was used as a distraction. Could and/or will or is this (possibly) be investigated, or is even the government itself in on it (though I wouldn't be suprised since there is a democrat in office)?
