Can I move the kittens to my mom's house? ?

My cat just had kittens about a 2 weeks ago. They're still tiny, and their eyes JUST opened the other day. The problem now is, I have to go out of town for a week and live by myself. Is it at all possible to move the kittens to my mom's house, or is that dangerous? Up there, she will be confined to one room, and my mom has 2 cats that mine doesn't know at all. It's really starting to sound like a bad idea, especially because I've heard that when you put mothers in situations like that will kill their kittens, but I really don't have any other feasible options for the kittens. Can anyone help me?
